About the position

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers is seeking a dedicated and hard-working Retail Associate - Donor Door Greeter for our Attended Donation Center located on Gaudette Avenue in Ft. Moore, GA. This part-time position is crucial for ensuring that our donation process runs smoothly and efficiently. The Retail Associate will be the first point of contact for donors, providing them with excellent customer service as they arrive to donate goods. The role requires the ability to operate independently while performing various tasks related to receiving and processing donations. The Retail Associate will greet donors promptly, unload donated items from vehicles, and provide receipts while maintaining accurate donation records using a hand-held device. It is essential to organize donations into bins to facilitate accurate processing. The position also involves performing opening and closing tasks of the Attended Donation Center (ADC) and maintaining a clean and organized work area. Additionally, the Retail Associate will assist truck drivers with loading and unloading donations and may be required to work in other areas of the store as directed by the leadership team. This role averages 20-25 hours per week, with hours fluctuating based on business needs, such as seasonal changes and donation volumes. The Retail Associate must be available to work between 9 am and 6 pm EST, Monday through Sunday. While the primary focus will be on the Donor Door Greeter responsibilities, the individual will also be cross-trained to work in all areas of the retail operation, ensuring a versatile and adaptable workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Greets donors quickly and efficiently with excellent customer service.
  • Operates all tasks independently.
  • Receives donated goods from donors by unloading vehicles and carrying in donated items.
  • Provides receipts to donors and maintains accurate donation records using a hand-held device.
  • Organizes donations into bins as they are brought in to assist with accurate processing.
  • Performs opening and closing tasks of the ADC.
  • Performs general housekeeping duties and keeps the work area neat and clean.
  • Assists truck drivers when loading and unloading donations.
  • Works other areas of the store as requested by the leadership team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED), preferred.
  • Average math skills.
  • Ability to use a hand-held electronic device.
  • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Prior experience working in a retail or customer service-related environment; preferred.
  • Warehouse experience, preferred.
