About The Position

Leidos is seeking a Data Analysis Engineer to support the Advanced Materials Department, focusing on additive manufacturing. This role involves a blend of modeling, simulation, data analysis, and testing to solve complex engineering challenges. The position requires collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and offers opportunities to engage in research and development activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent STEM degree from an ABET accredited institution with 4+ years applicable experience.
• Must be a resident of Crane, IN area or willing to relocate to work on-site at the Crane, IN office.
• Experience performing research and development activities such as experimentation and/or modeling and simulation.
• Experience using a programming language (e.g., Python, MATLAB) to solve engineering problems.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with metal additive manufacturing processes and technologies.
• Experience creating custom scripts for modeling/simulation problems.
• Experience using Python to solve engineering and scientific problems.
• Experience performing statistical analysis of large multivariable datasets.
• Experience anchoring modeling and simulation tools using experimentally derived datasets (e.g., CT data, mechanical property data, process variable data).
• Demonstrated experience conducting experimentation and analyzing uncertainties of the associated measurements.
• Experience leading tasks or elements of technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple Leidos programs in the area of additive manufacturing (AM) including modeling and simulation, data aggregation and analysis, and testing.
• Analyze and correlate test data with material properties, design attributes, and thermal profiles.
• Solve complex engineering challenges using both analytical and experimental approaches.
