About the position

The Administrative Director of Cardiovascular Services at Del Sol Medical Center is a pivotal role responsible for managing the operations of the Cardiovascular Programs, which include CV Recovery, Cardiovascular Services, and the Electrophysiology Lab. This position is not just about overseeing daily operations; it involves ensuring that all elements of the cardiovascular service line are integrated into a cohesive product line that supports the healthcare system efficiently and effectively. The director will be tasked with ensuring that the cardiovascular operations are running smoothly, meeting the needs of both the healthcare system and the medical staff. In this role, the director will provide direct oversight of the product line, implementing quality initiatives related to patient safety and performance improvement. This includes managing databases and accreditations from recognized organizations such as the Society for Thoracic Surgeons and the American College of Cardiology. The director will also engage in strategic planning and policy setting for cardiac rehabilitation and post-acute care, ensuring that the services provided are comprehensive and meet the highest standards of care. Additionally, the director will be responsible for fostering strong physician relations, marketing, and product development for all aspects of the cardiovascular programs. This includes conducting annual reviews, goal setting, and ensuring financial accountability within the department. The role also requires maintaining compliance with safety standards, including Radiation Safety and sterile techniques, to ensure the highest level of care for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the operations of the Cardiovascular Programs including CV Recovery, Cardiovascular Services, and Electrophysiology Lab.
  • Ensure integration of all elements into a product line that supports the healthcare system efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the cardiovascular operations to ensure they are operating efficiently and effectively.
  • Implement quality initiatives related to patient safety and performance improvement within the cardiovascular service line.
  • Conduct strategic planning and policy setting activities for cardiac rehabilitation and post-acute product line.
  • Engage in physician relations activities to ensure support of the healthcare system and address needs and opportunities.
  • Responsible for marketing and product development for all aspects of the cardiovascular programs.
  • Supervise and participate in the annual review process and goal setting for employees.
  • Ensure financial accountability systems are in place and operating guidelines are followed.
  • Handle payroll, control overtime, and provide weekly staffing reports.
  • Ensure Radiation Safety and sterile techniques are maintained.

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required.
  • Must meet one of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT), Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Registered Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES).
  • Associate Degree from an accredited program required; MSN or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of clinical cardiovascular leadership experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Level II trauma designation facility.
  • Familiarity with Society for Chest Pain Center accreditation and American Heart Association's Get-With-the-Guidelines.
