About The Position

The Admissions Program Coordinator (Communications) at the University of Michigan's School of Music, Theatre, & Dance (SMTD) plays a crucial role in the recruitment and enrollment of students. This position is responsible for managing communications for the SMTD Office of Admissions, providing administrative support, and collaborating with various departments to enhance marketing and recruitment efforts. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with video conferencing platforms such as Zoom and Google Meet.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in music, theatre, and/or dance.
  • Marketing and/or website development training or experience.
  • Experience using a customer relationship management system (CRM).
  • Familiarity with Slate and/or the M-Pathways Student Administration system.

Responsibilities

  • Manage communications for the SMTD Office of Admissions.
  • Provide administrative and office support to the admissions team.
  • Sustain a professional, public-facing office environment for staff, faculty, students, and prospective visitors.
  • Communicate with prospective students and families regarding academic programs, auditions, and campus life.
  • Lead and manage the development of external communications and marketing materials, including the annual Viewbook.
  • Coordinate the Michigan Performing Arts College Fair and annual Faculty Showcase Concerts during audition season.
  • Optimize the use of the Slate application platform for communication with applicants and prospects.
  • Hire, train, and supervise work-study students within the available budget.
  • Design and prepare proposals, presentations, and reports for admissions leadership.
  • Deliver timely admissions statistics and analysis.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for website development of Admissions information.
