As an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer, you will support critical assembly projects and processes in order to achieve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost objectives. Based out of Sidney OH, this position will collaborate with employees at all levels across multiples sites of the organization and travel to domestic and international manufacturing locations.
Responsibilities
- Participate in cross-functional teams to provide design and costing input for manufacturing and new product/process changes.
- Coordinate and manage projects to design, procure, qualify, and implement equipment and manufacturing processes, while maintaining project schedules and budgets.
- Work with outside integrators and machine builders to confirm new equipment meets design requirements and performs as expected.
- Apply practical automation, LEAN principles, and develop plant layouts and material handling solutions for high-volume manufacturing assembly lines.
- Perform PFMEAs, capability studies, Gage R&R, and other statistical analyses, as needed, to verify and qualify production processes and equipment.
- Provide support for special customer samples, pilot, and engineering compressor builds.
- Interface with Copeland manufacturing facilities to gain an understanding of their needs and how best to meet them.
- Develop documentation for use by operators and maintenance technicians to perform their duties and assist them in troubleshooting.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering Field (preferably Mechanical/ Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or Industrial Engineering)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and proven ability to apply creative thinking to address sophisticated problems.
- Must be able to interpret technical drawings
- Experience making data-driven decisions
- Shown digital literacy including MS Words, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse work groups to facilitate knowledge sharing.
- Ability to travel up to 25%. Travel will predominantly be in the U.S. and Mexico with the potential of travel to Europe/Asia.

Nice-to-haves
- Proven understanding of Lean Manufacturing and its methodologies
- Experience with 3D Modeling (NX)
- Understanding of assembly processes
- Five (5) years of engineering experience
