About the position

The Bergen County Technical Schools is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Instructor for the Adult Education program for the school year 2025/2026. This position is a 12-month non-certificated role that requires the instructor to develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum focused on manufacturing courses. The instructor will conduct both classroom and laboratory instruction, providing hands-on training and demonstrations using modern manufacturing equipment and tools. The role also involves assessing and evaluating student performance, staying updated with advancements in manufacturing technology, and collaborating with faculty and industry professionals to enhance the learning experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans and curriculum for manufacturing courses
  • Conduct classroom and laboratory instruction on various manufacturing processes and techniques
  • Provide hands-on training and demonstrations using modern manufacturing equipment and tools
  • Assess and evaluate student performance through tests, projects, and practical assessments
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in manufacturing technology and incorporate relevant updates into the curriculum
  • Collaborate with other faculty members and industry professionals to enhance the learning experience
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career paths in the manufacturing field
  • Ensure a safe and effective learning environment by maintaining equipment and enforcing safety protocols
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and knowledge
  • Organize and supervise student field trips, internships, and other experiential learning opportunities

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of the vocational and educational needs of learners at various life stages
  • Work experience with programs and assessment systems focusing on educational development
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to organize and work with educational and social institutions and agencies
  • Teaching experience highly preferred
  • Computer skills
  • New Jersey residency required within one (1) year of date of hire

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in adult education
  • Familiarity with modern manufacturing technologies
  • Previous mentoring or advising experience
