Responsibilities

  • Pilot in Command of MD-87 aircraft for aerial firefighting operations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Aero Air policies and standards of conduct.
  • Maintain reliable, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during flight operations.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Airline Transport Pilot or Commercial Certificate with Instrument Rating (Multiengine Land).
  • Current First or Second-Class medical.
  • Minimum 4,000 hours Total Flight Time for Pilot in Command position.
  • Minimum 2,000 hours Pilot in Command (airplane).
  • Minimum 200 hours multiengine PIC.
  • Minimum 100 hours multiengine PIC in aircraft greater than 12,500 lbs.
  • Minimum 200 hours low level (typical terrain).
  • Minimum 100 hours PIC in the preceding 12 months.
  • Heavy jet type rating.
  • Previous or current USFS AKP or AKI rating.

Nice-to-haves

  • Current Initial Attack rating.
  • DC-9 type rating.
  • Jet type rating.
  • Previous USFS air tanker experience.
  • Low level time.
