About the position

As an Aerospace CMM Programmer/Quality Technician at SAS Flight Factory (SAS FF), you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to precision manufacturing in the aerospace sector, particularly for mission-critical programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the products we manufacture meet the highest standards of quality and compliance with customer and industry specifications. You will be responsible for programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), which are essential tools in our quality assurance processes. Your expertise will directly influence the quality of our products and the success of our missions in the aerospace industry. In this position, you will conduct first-article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections to verify that our products meet the required standards. You will analyze inspection data and prepare detailed reports for both internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring transparency and accountability in our quality assurance processes. Maintaining the calibration of measuring equipment is also a critical aspect of your role, as is ensuring compliance with established quality standards. You will assist in the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures, applying your knowledge of quality inspection techniques to identify nonconforming hardware. Effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Program Management, and Customers, will be essential as you work to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Additionally, you will be involved in materials handling, receiving, packaging, and shipping, further contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of our operations.

Responsibilities

  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to ensure product quality.
  • Perform first-article inspections, in-process inspections, and final inspections.
  • Analyze inspection data and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain calibration of measuring equipment and ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of quality assurance processes and procedures.
  • Perform quality inspections, applying quality inspection techniques, and identifying nonconforming hardware.
  • Ensure quality document management, quality control, and compliance with requirements and procedures.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional groups - Engineering, Program Management, and Customers with minimal assistance.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Handle materials, including receiving, packaging, and shipping.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in programming and operating CMM machines.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience with metrology equipment and software, such as PC-DMIS.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 standards.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
