About the position

The Afterschool Site Leader is a pivotal role within The Resource Room, a community-based organization dedicated to inspiring and equipping individuals while reconnecting the community to successful possibilities. This part-time position, requiring 25 to 30 hours per week, focuses on delivering program content that enhances students' academic skills, physical talents, and social-emotional abilities. The Site Leader will ensure that the afterschool program operates in compliance with funder requirements and will supervise the Afterschool Counselors to foster a positive learning and social environment for students. In this role, the Afterschool Site Leader will be responsible for the daily operations of the afterschool program, which includes planning, implementing, directing, and coordinating both programmatic and operational activities. The Site Leader will oversee the afterschool staff, ensuring that services are delivered faithfully according to the program model. This position also involves managing partnerships, preparing program reports for funders, monitoring data collection, and making recommendations for continuous improvement within the organization. Additionally, the Site Leader will assist with the recruitment and intake process of program participants and perform other duties as assigned. To excel in this position, the Afterschool Site Leader should possess strong time management skills, effective written and oral communication abilities, and the capacity to work independently. The role requires innovation and creativity in problem-solving, as well as the ability to multitask and work collaboratively with others. A thorough understanding of childhood development processes and the physical demands of the position is essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for daily program operations of the afterschool program.
  • Provide oversight and leadership to the afterschool staff to ensure fidelity of service delivery as aligned with the program model.
  • Plan, implement, direct, and coordinate both program and operational activities of the afterschool program.
  • Supervise Afterschool Counselors.
  • Manage partnerships with community organizations.
  • Prepare program reports for submission to funder(s).
  • Monitor data collection and service delivery.
  • Make recommendations in support of continuous improvement to the organization.
  • Assist with the recruiting and intake process of program participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree in Sociology, Social Work, Human Services, Education or related field.
  • At least two years' demonstrated experience in program implementation and coordination and building relationships with community partners.
  • Must obtain the 40-childcare license.
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth K-12.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to maintain professional relationships with team members, training personnel, community providers, and corporate partners.
  • Knowledgeable of The Children's Trust and the Early Childhood Coalition landscape in Miami-Dade and Broward County.
  • Informed on community support service organizations in Miami-Dade County.
  • Proven ability to prepare grant reports and other correspondence required by funders.
  • Knowledgeable of overseeing program budget.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings.
  • Experience understanding needs assessments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suites such as Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Must maintain a valid Driving License at all times during employment.
