About the position

As a Front Desk Agent at Hotel Indigo, you will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Your role will involve managing guest bookings, handling transactions, and ensuring a friction-free experience for all guests. You will also provide local insights and assist guests with their needs, contributing to memorable stays.

Responsibilities

• Be the warm welcome that kicks off a memorable guest experience.
• Acknowledge IHG Rewards Club members and returning guests, in person or on the phone.
• Take and manage guest bookings, up-selling opportunities and inform them about ways to improve their stay.
• Handle cash and credit transactions.
• Check guests in and out swiftly, taking IDs, handing out room keys, and managing safety deposit boxes.
• Record and act on guests' preferences, and handle their messages, requests, questions, and concerns.
• Serve as a trusted contact for all guests, assisting with bill issues and local knowledge.
• Report all incidents and follow safety procedures, wearing protective gear as needed.
• Maintain a professional appearance and act as a brand ambassador.
• Stay informed about daily events and activities, and assist colleagues with ad-hoc duties.

Requirements

• Strong communication skills to interact with guests effectively.
• Problem-solving skills to turn issues into opportunities for guest satisfaction.
• Fluency in the local language; additional language skills are a plus.
• Basic literacy and tech-savviness, including reading, writing, basic math, and computer skills.
• Flexibility to work night, weekend, and holiday shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a college degree is a bonus.
• At least one year of experience in a front desk or guest service position.
• Physical strength to lift, push, and pull objects up to 50lbs (23 kg), including bending and kneeling.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Additional language skills beyond the local language.
