About the position

The Agile Coach at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona is a pivotal role focused on facilitating and implementing Agile methodologies across the organization. This position aims to train, coach, and lead teams in adopting Agile principles, fostering self-organization, and driving continuous improvement in delivering customer value. The Agile Coach will work closely with business leaders and teams to identify process improvement opportunities and advocate for innovative practices that enhance productivity and quality outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, and mentor Agile (Scrum/Kanban) teams and business leaders in Agile concepts and application.
  • Foster a team environment of self-organization and continuous improvement to deliver high value to customers.
  • Implement organizational change management to ensure successful adoption of new working methods.
  • Facilitate improvement sessions such as retrospectives and Lean sessions.
  • Identify and collaborate with teams on measurable improvements.
  • Assist teams in defining process changes and solutions for service delivery improvements.
  • Lead complex problem-solving activities to assess root causes and implement solutions.
  • Identify and address organizational impediments to team productivity.
  • Liaise with management to remove blockers and assist teams in prioritizing workloads.
  • Communicate progress of Agile transformations and service delivery improvements to management.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience as an Agile Coach, coaching multiple teams.
  • 7 years of experience implementing large Agile projects.
  • Proven experience in organizational Agile transformation at a large scale.
  • 5 years of experience with process analysis and driving transformation efforts.
  • 5 years of facilitation experience.
  • 5 years of experience with coaching and influencing teams.
  • 7 years of project management experience.
  • 7 years of business operational experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1 year of experience with scaled agile framework.
  • 3 years of experience as an Agile coach.
  • 5 years of experience implementing large enterprise Agile projects.
  • 3 years of process management experience.
  • 3 years of experience in Lean/Six Sigma field.
