About the position

The Agile Coach - Senior Consultant role at Cognizant involves leading and coaching teams in adopting Lean-Agile practices while working closely with clients to enhance their business performance through modern engineering practices. This position requires a deep understanding of Agile methodologies and the ability to facilitate collaboration among various stakeholders to ensure alignment between strategy and execution. The role is primarily onsite in Washington, DC, four days a week, and focuses on driving continuous improvement and operational excellence within consulting engagements.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an Agile Coach on consulting engagements with clients.
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in adopting Lean-Agile practices and mindsets.
  • Support the management of risks and dependencies and identify and track impediments.
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering.
  • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to ensure strategy and execution alignment.
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by enhancing DevOps and Release on Demand competency.
  • Drive Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycles.
  • Collaborate with the Agile Program Management Office (APMO) on program execution and operational excellence.
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including ART sync and value stream sync for Solution Trains.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer/Agile Coach.
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.
  • Experience facilitating leading Scrum ceremonies such as PI planning, PO sync, and System Demo.
  • Experience working in client-facing roles and managing stakeholder interactions.
  • Deep understanding of the DevOps philosophy and Agile methods.
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, workshops, and ceremonies across teams.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment at different client sites.
  • Consulting experience is highly preferred.
  • Agile Certifications or equivalent experience (e.g., SAFe, Scruminc, SPC, Scrum Alliance).
