About the position

The Agile Coach Senior Consultant at Cognizant will play a pivotal role in transforming client operations through the adoption of Lean-Agile practices. This position involves coaching leaders and teams, managing risks, and ensuring alignment between strategy and execution. The role requires a deep understanding of agile methodologies and the ability to facilitate collaboration across various stakeholders to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Be onsite at the client location in Washington, DC 4 days/week
  • Serve as an Agile Coach on our Consulting Engagement with a client
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in adopting Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Support the management of risks and dependencies and identify and track impediments
  • Provide input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks
  • Encourage collaboration between teams and System and Solution Architects/Engineering
  • Work with Product and Solution Management, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment
  • Improve the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the DevOps and Release on Demand competency
  • Help drive the Lean User Experience (UX) innovation cycle
  • Work with the Agile Program Management Office (APMO) on program execution and operational excellence
  • Understand and operate within Lean Budgets and ensure adherence to Guardrails
  • Drive relentless improvement via Inspect and Adapt workshops; assess the agility level of the ART and Solution Train and help them improve
  • Facilitate periodic synchronization meetings, including the ART sync at the Program Level and the value stream sync for Solution Trains.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer/Agile Coach
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe
  • Experience facilitating leading Scrum ceremonies, such as PI planning, PO sync, ART sync, System Demo, I&A sessions
  • Experience working in client-facing roles interacting with key stakeholders to lead the engagement and manage the team and all expected outcomes
  • Deep understanding of the DevOps philosophy and Agile methods
  • Experience in facilitating meetings, workshops, and ceremonies across teams
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment at different client sites
  • Consulting experience highly preferred
  • Personal leadership and a desire to create a culture that enables exceptional outcomes
  • Agile Certifications or equivalent experience - example - SAFe, Scruminc, SPC, Scrum Alliance
  • The ability to work onsite 4 days/week at the Washington DC client location
