About the position

Nightwing is seeking an Agile Coach to support a U.S. Government customer on a large mission-critical development and sustainment program. This role involves designing, building, delivering, and operating a network operations environment while introducing new cyber capabilities to address emerging threats. As an Agile Coach, you will act as a servant leader, driving relentless improvements and challenging Agile Teams to enhance their performance. You will exhibit the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader, helping teams embrace Lean-Agile values and principles, and implement Lean-Agile practices effectively. Your responsibilities will include managing and optimizing the flow of value through the Agile Release Train (ART), working closely with Release Train Engineers (RTEs) to facilitate ART level events, and helping to manage risks and dependencies. You will also deliver SAFe course enablement trainings to inspire others and support their educational journeys. Producing and presenting ART level metrics will be crucial in helping teams improve and take responsibility for their actions. You will facilitate PI Planning readiness and work with RTEs to organize and conduct the PI Planning event in conjunction with Product Management, Architects, Epic Owners, and Business Owners. Additionally, you will help Product Management build foundational knowledge, manage and prioritize the ART Feature Backlog, generate a Vision, and build Roadmaps. Defining and documenting the ART's development value stream will be part of your role, coaching ART members on understanding their value stream, measuring flow, and relentlessly improving the ART's value flow. This position requires a strong commitment to fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the teams you support.

Responsibilities

  • Exhibit the behaviors of a Lean-Agile Leader with a Lean-Agile Mindset.
  • Help the team embrace Lean-Agile Values, adopt and apply Lean-Agile Principles, and implement Lean-Agile practices.
  • Drive the journey towards high-performing teams and ARTs through transparency, team empowerment, and continuous learning to promote Business Value delivery.
  • Manage and optimize the flow of value through the ART, working with RTEs to facilitate ART level events (including I&A, SoS) and manage risks and dependencies.
  • Deliver SAFe course enablement trainings to teach and inspire others, allowing participants to seek further education, guidance, and/or obtain certifications.
  • Produce and present ART level metrics to help the ARTs improve and take responsibility for their actions; teach problem-solving techniques and support Scrum Masters/Team Coaches.
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness, working with RTEs to organize and conduct the PI Planning event in conjunction with Product Management, Architects, Epic Owners, and Business Owners.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Active Secret clearance and must be able to obtain a TS/SCI clearance
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
  • 10+ years of directly relevant experience
  • 2+ years of Agile experience and recent hands-on experience as a successful Scrum Master OR Release Train Engineer
  • Solid problem solving and influencing skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and communication skills
  • Experience working with various audiences, both technical and non-technical
  • Experience working on software development teams and understanding both SDLC and Agile Framework
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, Kanban, Extreme Programming
  • Proficient in using Jira software

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Agile tools including Jira Align and Confluence
  • Domain knowledge in Cyber Security
  • Working knowledge in various technologies including Cloud Computing, Big Data, DevSecOps, and Automation
  • Ensure clear communication working alongside Release Train Engineers and Scrum Masters/Team Coaches to remove impediments
  • Thorough understanding of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Ability to apply Agile best practices and techniques (Scrum/Kanban/XP) to facilitate Team and ART level activities.
