About the position

As an Agile Coach at ManpowerGroup, you will play a pivotal role in guiding teams towards the successful adoption of Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban. Your primary responsibility will be to serve as a servant leader, ensuring clear communication within the team and helping them achieve their goals. This position requires you to work onsite in Manassas, Virginia, for at least two days a week, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes productivity and continuous improvement. In this role, you will utilize Agile values, principles, and practices to effectively plan, manage, and deliver customer value and solutions. You will be responsible for facilitating collaborative processes, removing impediments that hinder the team's progress, and ensuring that Scrum events and decision-making processes are well organized and executed. Your leadership will be crucial in mentoring and supporting delivery teams, promoting transparency, and encouraging a culture of inspection and adaptation. You will also be accountable for tracking project processes, progress, and deliverables, while working closely with tribe leadership to implement tribe-wide improvements and initiatives. Your ability to facilitate multi-squad planning events will be essential in aligning teams towards common objectives and enhancing overall performance. To succeed in this role, you will need a strong working knowledge of Agile methodologies and frameworks, along with excellent communication and analytical skills. Your experience in coaching teams to improve software development and deployment processes will be invaluable as you drive the adoption of modern engineering practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a servant leader for team(s) by ensuring clear communication and helping the team reach its goals.
  • Drive the adoption of Scrum and various other agile methodologies to focus on value, flow, quality, predictability, and continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate team productivity by removing impediments that obstruct the pursuit of the team's goals.
  • Use Agile methodology values, principles, and practices to plan, manage, and deliver customer value and solutions.
  • Ensure the proper use of collaborative processes and remove impediments for the scrum team.
  • Collaborate with and support the team in meeting product development and delivery needs.
  • Teach, mentor, and support delivery teams to adopt agile values, principles, and practices.
  • Accountable for facilitating scrum events, meetings, and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure that tasks, issues, risks, and action items are effectively managed by the team.
  • Promote transparency, inspect & adapt, and help teams continuously improve their performance.
  • Plan and organize demos and product/system testing, qualification, and deployments.
  • Track and make visible project processes, progress, and deliverables.
  • Work with tribe leadership on tribe-wide improvements and initiatives.
  • Facilitate multi-squad planning events (e.g., big room planning).

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of agile methodology, techniques, and frameworks, such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Ability to coach teams towards improving software development and deployment via CI/CD pipelines.
  • Leadership and management experience.
  • Excellent people communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong desire for transparency, visibility, and use of data, evidence, and metrics.
  • CSM certification, prefer CSP-SM or PSM I, prefer PSM II.
  • Working experience and/or certification on Kanban is a plus.
  • Working or familiarity with the Spotify model is a plus.
  • Working experience in SAFe is a plus.
  • Prior Agile Coaching, Project, and Program management roles is a plus.
  • Working experience in Jira, Confluence, MS Teams, MS Outlook, and other MS products.
  • Working experience on collaboration tools such as Mural, Mentimeter, and Slido.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a relevant field preferred.
  • Certified Scrum Master or relevant Agile-related certifications.
  • 4+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role.
  • Technical background.
  • Delivery experience.
  • Working in regulated environments.
