About the position

The Agile Coach at Vanguard is responsible for leading complex process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean and Agile. This role focuses on enhancing business processes, optimizing workflows, and championing continuous improvement to deliver exceptional client experiences. The Agile Coach will work closely with product families to instill Agile methodologies, improve value delivery, and foster a culture of experimentation and self-organization.

Responsibilities

  • Champion implementation of methodologies across families, partnering with counterparts to scale methodologies beyond individual teams.
  • Help product families set meaningful goals and metrics to measure their progress and success.
  • Support continuous improvement by enabling streamlined product development and reducing bottlenecks.
  • Foster experimentation and encourage families to try new approaches and learn from failures.
  • Promote self-organization, collaboration, and improved product family dynamics.
  • Train and mentor product families through workshops and training sessions.
  • Provide guidance on Agile practices and create training materials as needed.
  • Identify challenges and opportunities for product families and develop active coaching plans.
  • Guide families in implementing tools that support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist product families in optimizing workflows and enhancing value delivery.
  • Assess agile maturity and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with internal clients and collaborators.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years related work experience with progressive responsibility.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • Graduate degree preferred.
  • Process improvement certification (e.g., Pro Kanban, Agile Alliance, Scrum.org, PMI-ACP, Six Sigma certification) preferred.
  • Ability to obtain certification within one year required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Tableau and Jira.
  • Familiarity with Digital Product Management and Product Operations.
