About the position

Axient is seeking an experienced Agile Product Owner to join our dynamic team. This role is critical as the Product Owner will be embedded within a Scrum team that is part of a larger project involving 7-10 other Scrum teams. The position is based on-site at the Dahlgren Naval Base, with the possibility of hybrid telework arrangements. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Agile development frameworks, particularly Scrum, and will be adept at quickly assimilating project-specific processes and ceremonies. We are looking for a self-starter who is a team player and can rapidly learn the features and capabilities specific to the project. In this role, the Agile Product Owner will be responsible for engaging with stakeholders from various organizations to gather and understand their needs. This involves translating those needs into development Epics and Features, which are increments of work that guide the development process. The Product Owner will also identify Planning Increment (PI) Objectives and maintain and prioritize the Product Backlog to ensure that the most critical tasks are addressed first. As part of the development process, the Product Owner will test work items as they reach the corresponding status and support feature and validation testing across multiple domains. Additionally, the role includes providing capability demonstrations to the user community and stakeholders, ensuring that all parties are aligned and informed about the project's progress and outcomes.
