About the position

The AI Engineer for Robotics, also known as The Machine Intelligence Architect, is responsible for developing and implementing AI-driven solutions that enhance robotic systems. This role focuses on creating intelligent, adaptive, and autonomous machines by designing algorithms that enable robots to perceive, learn, and make decisions. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models with hardware and software components, ensuring seamless operation and performance in dynamic environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement AI models for robotic systems, focusing on object detection, path planning, obstacle avoidance, and decision-making.
  • Build perception and computer vision capabilities by integrating algorithms for recognition and scene understanding.
  • Develop algorithms for autonomous navigation and path planning, including SLAM and motion control.
  • Implement reinforcement learning for adaptive behavior, enabling robots to learn from experience and improve performance.
  • Optimize AI models for real-time performance on embedded systems, ensuring efficiency on hardware-constrained platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI models with mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Test, validate, and fine-tune AI systems through rigorous testing in simulation and real-world environments.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in machine learning and deep learning with frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras.
  • Strong knowledge of computer vision techniques and experience with OpenCV or similar libraries.
  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning algorithms for adaptive systems.
  • Proficiency in Python for AI development and C++ for real-time deployment.
  • Experience optimizing and deploying AI models on edge devices for real-time applications.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Relevant certifications or coursework in machine learning, AI, or robotics.
  • Experience with robotic operating systems such as ROS and simulation environments like Gazebo.
  • Familiarity with sensor data processing techniques such as LIDAR and RGB-D cameras.
