About the position

The Air Conditioning Technician at Rutan Refrigeration is responsible for diagnosing, installing, and repairing air conditioning systems. This role requires a commitment to customer satisfaction and the ability to work collaboratively with other trades to ensure efficient project completion. The technician will also manage inventory and assist with refrigeration work, while adhering to health and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose problems and failures in AC systems to identify repair and replacement needs.
• Install AC equipment and systems.
• Repair various items, systems, and components to ensure safe working conditions.
• Request equipment and supplies to maintain inventory for installations and repairs.
• Assist with refrigeration work and coordinate with administration and other trades for project completion.
• Inform personnel regarding procedures and status of work orders to facilitate decision-making and compliance with regulations.

Requirements

• EPA Refrigeration Certification
• EPA Type I and II certifications required (EPA 608 Universal accepted)
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Basic math skills including calculations with fractions, percentages, and ratios
• Mechanical knowledge and aptitude
• Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers
• Problem-solving skills to identify issues and create action plans
• Ability to work as part of a team and meet deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of AC or refrigeration service experience preferred
• Good people skills with a commitment to customer satisfaction
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
