About the position

The Aircraft Technician A&P at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is responsible for performing a variety of aircraft modifications and maintenance functions. This role ensures that all mechanical systems of the aircraft are maintained to high standards, complying with FAA regulations and internal quality specifications. The technician will work independently and may also provide direction to other technicians, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform required periodic maintenance and necessary servicing of all aircraft mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrate the ability to consistently perform assigned maintenance tasks within the quoted or standard CMP time.
  • Provide work direction for assigned technicians and promote high standards of quality through instruction and example.
  • Act on behalf of the Mechanical Team Lead (MTL) in their absence and assume their duties when assigned.
  • Coordinate with the Inspection department to ensure compliance with internal and FAA inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Properly complete work order sign-offs, shift turnovers, and other paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all work accomplished meets quality standards and specifications.
  • Properly identify and tag customer property and equipment, storing them securely and safely.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and JSAs when operating ground support equipment.
  • Coordinate movement of aircraft as required.
  • Assist in training new employees on maintenance manuals and procedures.
  • Use the material tracking system to create parts demand and charge labor to correct work orders.
  • Apply 6S and Lean Initiatives to maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Implement and apply Lean/continuous improvement processes to all areas of responsibility.
  • Properly use and maintain company-provided tools and equipment.
  • May include flight tests on aircraft as required.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 4 years of Aviation Maintenance experience, including 3 years working on mid/large size aircraft.
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate required.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Advanced knowledge of inspection and maintenance procedures for various aircraft models and systems.
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations and company policies.

Nice-to-haves

  • G550 experience preferred.
  • Corporate aircraft experience preferred.
