Sonoma Public Infrastructure seeks an experienced and customer-focused IT professional to join our team as an Airport IT Specialist II. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining and troubleshooting technical systems, hardware, software, and devices, while providing technical assistance and support to department staff. The starting salary for this position is up to $56.32 per hour ($117,546 annually), along with a competitive total compensation package. You will report to the Department Information Systems Coordinator and will also take direction from the Airport Manager and Airport Assistant Manager. As the lead administrator for the Sonoma County Airport's terminal building LAN, your responsibilities will include configuration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of the network. You will coordinate the repair, relocation, addition, installation, activation, deactivation, and removal of technical devices. It will be your responsibility to determine when and how to appropriately escalate requests and issues to management, vendors, and contractors. Additionally, you will provide brief user training and education on systems, software, and hardware, as well as prepare and deliver formalized training on various applications and services to all levels of department staff. You will also offer technical assistance and oversight to department staff managing the department/division's website, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Intranet sites. Daily support will be provided via phone and email to staff with varying levels of technical knowledge and skills. Troubleshooting of computer hardware and peripherals will be required, both physically and remotely via telephone and remote-control software. Furthermore, you will provide backup and cover for other team members, acting as the primary phone and email technician, and managing tasks such as account management, security group management, and email distribution list management. This position works standard business hours (Monday through Friday, 8 am until 5 pm), but flexibility will be required for network hardware upgrades and maintenance that cannot be performed during Airport terminal operational hours. Maintaining smooth Airport operations may necessitate callouts that require call-back or overtime with little to no notice.
