About the position

The AmeriCorps Youth Launch Program Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the AmeriCorps Youth Launch grant. Program implementation includes recruitment, tracking expenditures, managing members, as well as reporting. The Director will be responsible for the daily overall development and implementation of the AmeriCorps Youth Launch program, including program management, budget, creation of required reports in Iowa Grants, and program evaluation. The Director will ensure the program is meeting federal and state compliance requirements, create and update program forms and procedural manuals to guide daily program operations, ensure collection of performance measure data, analyze and report, recruit, train and support AmeriCorps sites and supervisors, lead and provide oversight to Host Sites in the recruitment and selection of AmeriCorps members, lead AmeriCorps member training classes and provide support to ensure member retention, ensure ALL required National Service Criminal History Check (NSCHC) background checks are completed, signed and filed in each member/staff file, responsible for filing the necessary documents in Oracle for the hiring of staff/members, ensure all forms are collected and placed in member files, ensure members do not engage in prohibited activities, network with community agencies and youth organizations throughout our region, travel and network within the six southern Iowa counties of Clarke, Decatur, Lucas, Ringgold, Union and Wayne, and attend all required state and national trainings and conferences.

Requirements

  • BA preferred with a strong background in youth development or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer competencies in Microsoft.
  • Driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Willingness to travel.
