About the position

The Analyst II, Business Intelligence position at Ocean Network Express (ONE) is a pivotal role that supports Yield Management activities within the North America Region. This position requires a hybrid work model, necessitating at least three days in the office each week. The primary responsibility of this role is to utilize data handling and analytical skills to visualize data and provoke actions that lead to improvements in the company's yield. A high degree of accuracy is essential, as the data provided will inform critical company policy decisions. The role involves handling large datasets that encompass not only commercial data but also operational costs, container flow and velocity, as well as financial and accounting factors. In addition to supporting the Manager of the department, the Analyst will collaborate with various teams including Container Flow Management, Execution Marketing, Inland Operation, and Procurement. This position also serves as a liaison between the Marketing/Sales division and the BPIT organization within ONE North America. A strong understanding of the data elements involved in ONE's activities is crucial, including B/L data, Container Flow data, cost data, and accounting data. The Analyst will also be involved in resolving system-related issues that affect Marketing/Sales activities and the Cargo Management team's operations, ensuring effective communication and support between departments. The role demands very strong data handling and analytical skills to identify problems and opportunities for improving ONE's yield. The Analyst must possess sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities, and be able to work cooperatively with other departments on a global scale. Proficiency in MS applications, particularly Excel and Google Suite applications, is required, with advanced knowledge of macros, pivot tables, and formulas in these tools being essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Support Yield Management activities within the North America Region.
  • Utilize data handling and analytical skills to visualize data and provoke actions for yield improvement.
  • Provide accurate data to inform company policy decisions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years' experience in industry-related fields.
  • Minimum 1 year of team management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field.
  • Very strong data handling skills.
  • Very strong analytical skills to clarify problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other departments globally.
  • Strong proficiency in MS applications, particularly Excel and Google Suite applications.
