About The Position

The role involves driving product development projects for the refrigeration business, focusing on structural components. The position requires managing multiple projects simultaneously and implementing them using a concurrent engineering approach while collaborating with various stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the offered position or closely related occupation.

Responsibilities

  • Drive product development projects for the refrigeration business focusing on structural components.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to implementation using a concurrent engineering mindset.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders such as system integrators, cooling and thermal subsystems, industrial engineers, marketing, verification & validation team, controls, sourcing and procurement, and manufacturing.
  • Apply concurrent engineering by developing multiple concepts and converging to preferred concepts using evaluation tools.
  • Develop detailed designs considering key metrics such as material selection, manufacturability, cost, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and safety.
  • Deliver 100% design maturity per project tollgate.
  • Capture design using Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), requirements capture, design guides, drawings, and tolerance stacks.
  • Utilize Six Sigma tools and statistical fundamentals to drive product development.
  • Employ critical thinking, Design of Experiments (DOEs), Component of Variation Studies (COVs), Thought Maps, and Process Maps.
  • Submit simulation requests with clear boundary condition definitions and interpret results for design modifications.
  • Use tolerance analysis to drive sensitivity in simulation results.
  • Collaborate with system integrators and build planners to create prototypes and product components.
  • Work with procurement teams and suppliers to support product builds.
  • Drive intellectual property protection by submitting patent applications.
  • Develop a sub-system/technology roadmap aligned with architecture/functional roadmap to support platform and regional product plans.
  • Drive tradeoffs across workstreams to deliver subsystem level attribute targets.
