The Analyst/Programmer position at California State University, Fullerton is a vital role within the Information Technology Services department, specifically in the Development and Application Support team. In addition to web development, the Analyst/Programmer will serve as a system and database administrator, overseeing the management, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of database, web, and application servers. This includes developing extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes between IT systems and campus systems. The position also involves implementing security measures to ensure the proper functioning of web and database applications. The Analyst/Programmer will work closely with other IT professionals and stakeholders to deliver high-quality technology solutions that enhance the educational experience at CSUF. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to diversity, integrity, and ethical practices, and will be expected to contribute positively to the campus community. This temporary position is full-time, with a work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and may require occasional early morning, evening, or weekend hours. The appointment is set to end on or before June 30, 2025, with the possibility of renewal based on funding and program needs.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop web database applications for campus-wide projects.
  • Provide system application support and ensure compliance with security measures.
  • Create, update, and maintain campus and college web pages.
  • Oversee management, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of database, web, and application servers.
  • Develop extraction, transformation, and load (ETL) processes between IT systems and campus systems.
  • Implement security measures for web and database applications.
  • Assist in training others on new skills and procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Two years of relevant full-time experience or equivalent part-time experience; eight years of relevant experience may substitute for education requirements.
  • Functional knowledge of advanced principles and theories in the specialty area.
  • Ability to integrate work-related knowledge to address problems and apply technical judgment.
  • Demonstrated competency in applying standard and non-standard technology applications.
  • Ability to develop solutions where precedents do not always exist.
