Anti Fraud Analyst

About the position

Coins.ph is seeking an Anti-Fraud Analyst to join our Security team. This position primarily involves analyzing event logs and statistics to detect anomalies and fraud patterns. The role requires a strong background in mathematics and statistics, as well as an understanding of fraud patterns and techniques in the fintech and payment industries. The successful candidate will work remotely, collaborating with a geo-dispersed team of engineers across Europe and Asia, and will have a flexible working schedule.

Responsibilities

• Analysis of the event logs and statistics, detection of anomalies and fraud patterns.
• Investigations of fraud cases and incidents.
• Help in the development and adoption of anti-fraud rules and anti-fraud system requirements.
• Documentation of the patterns and writing the incident reports, interaction with Development and Data Science teams.
• Prepare analytics and trends reports.

Requirements

• Background in mathematics and statistics.
• Understanding of fraud patterns and techniques in fintech/payment industries.
• Scripting skills enough to do the analytics: Python (pandas, numpy), SQL.
• High level of responsibility and attention to details.
• Report writing skills.
• Fluent English.

Nice-to-haves

• Familiarity with the local/international underground behavior.
• Experience with crypto platforms and relevant risks.
• Practical experience in data mining in Anti-Fraud field (statistics research, fraud trends research, fraud patterns detection, anti-fraud rules development).
• Data Science awareness.
• Familiarity with Amazon Athena, Apache Spark, Databricks toolsets.
