About the position

The Downingtown Area School District is excited to announce anticipated openings for all certified science teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. Available positions may include full-time permanent contracts and long-term substitute contracts. The positions are located in various schools including Downingtown Middle School, Downingtown High School East, Downingtown High School West, and STEM Academy. The effective date for these positions is the start of the 2025-2026 school year. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited college or university
• Hold a proper Pennsylvania certification for the position
• Bachelor's degree
• Valid PA certification specific to content area: Middle Level Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics
• Demonstrates knowledge in the area of assignment
• Possesses a positive attitude toward the teaching profession
• Proficiency in use of current technology for individual or group demonstration or communication
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Excellent classroom management skills
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to provide good judgment, planning, and human relations skills
• Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements
