About the position

The AP/AR Specialist position is responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable activities within CSG Consultants Inc. This role involves overseeing the accuracy of billing, processing payments, and maintaining financial records. The position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring timely and accurate financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Review invoices and statements for accounts payable, ensuring accuracy of billing and obtaining necessary approvals.
  • Cut checks and update payment schedules, posting manual checks as needed.
  • File accounts payable checks and save supporting documents in the monthly close folder.
  • Create new vendor accounts, update addresses, and request necessary documentation such as EFT and insurance certificates.
  • Respond to vendor inquiries regarding late payments and verify online banking transactions.
  • Process bi-weekly employee expense reimbursements, matching receipts and obtaining approvals.
  • Track payments for vendors and release payments accordingly.
  • Complete necessary tax forms and compute sales taxes as required.
  • Prepare and distribute daily cash and weekly cash flow reports.
  • Contact clients regarding discrepancies and send reminders for past due invoices.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of recent Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable experience.
  • Experience using Accounting ERP systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word with strong knowledge of financial systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in a related field is desired.
  • Experience in a municipal services consulting firm.
