About The Position

The Apartment Maintenance Technician at MAA is responsible for performing general maintenance and repairs to ensure that apartment homes and property facilities are in good working order. This role is essential in maintaining high standards of living for residents and involves a variety of tasks including troubleshooting and repairing HVAC units, electrical appliances, plumbing, and carpentry. The position also includes following a preventative maintenance schedule and ensuring resident satisfaction after repairs are completed.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in multifamily property management, facility maintenance, or mechanical repair
  • HVAC experience required
  • EPA Type II or EPA Universal certification required at hire or within 90 days
  • Valid driver's license from the state of residence

Responsibilities

  • Prepare apartments for move-in
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC units
  • Repair electrical appliances, outlets, and light fixtures
  • Perform plumbing and carpentry tasks
  • Maintain locks and other property facilities
  • Follow a planned preventative maintenance schedule
  • Follow up with residents after repairs are complete
