Application Consultant DevOps-Performance Engineer

About the position

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Consultant DevOps opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ. This position involves developing, deploying, and optimizing Java/Spring Boot applications, performing code optimization and performance tuning, and enabling performance tests as part of the continuous integration (CI) pipeline. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve DevOps best practices and automation strategies.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and optimize Java/Spring Boot applications
• Perform code optimization and performance tuning to ensure application efficiency
• Enable performance tests as part of the continuous integration (CI) pipeline
• Utilize performance testing tools like JMeter and K6 to analyze and improve system performance
• Develop mock frameworks using JMock, Mockito, or similar technologies
• Build performance dashboards and monitor system health using Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana
• Work with Kafka for event-driven architecture and messaging solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve DevOps best practices and automation strategies

Requirements

• Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot (Must have)
• Experience with performance tuning and code optimization (Must have)
• Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter & K6 (Must have)
• Experience integrating performance tests within the CI pipeline (Must have)
• Hands-on experience in developing mock frameworks (JMock, Mockito, etc.)
• Expertise in building and maintaining performance dashboards (Dynatrace, Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana) (Must have)
• Kafka experience for real-time data processing
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in software development, performance testing, and DevOps practices
• Strong background in application performance monitoring and optimization
• Experience in Agile and CI/CD environments
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines

Benefits

• Pay: $45 to $55/hr
• Onsite work in Phoenix, AZ
• Duration: 8 months
