Application Developer - Java, Python, GCP

About the position

CTG is seeking to fill an Application Developer - Java, Python, GCP opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ. The position involves designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust Java and web-based applications, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and contributing to the development of AI-powered applications and integrations. The role also includes optimizing application performance, participating in code reviews, and supporting the migration and deployment of applications to cloud environments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy robust Java and web-based applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
• Contribute to the development of AI-powered applications and integrations.
• Optimize application performance and ensure scalability.
• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and documentation.
• Support the migration and deployment of applications to cloud environments using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot applications in development and production environments.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Java with strong understanding of web technologies and frameworks.
• Working knowledge of Python for scripting or backend development.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with public cloud platforms, especially Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Understanding of Machine Learning and Generative AI concepts and workflows.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• 8 to 10+ years of hands-on experience with Java and/or Python development.
• Prior experience working on cloud-native applications and deploying to GCP.
• Background or exposure to AI/ML integration in application development is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group.
