About the position

As an Application Development Engineer at Burlington, you will configure, test and support applications serving Corporate, Stores and Supply Chain stakeholders across the enterprise under the direction of the Manager of Web Dev Ops. This includes leading initiatives of diverse sizes and complexity, managing risk and stakeholder expectations. A Day In The Life You will develop new applications, modules, and processes to streamline business processes, configuration and enhancements which also includes development, testing, implementation, support & documentation. Additionally, you will act as a liaison between business partners, internal & external IT (Information Technology) teams to contribute towards project plans, create test strategies, scripts, and deployment plans along with managing risk and stakeholder communications. Also, you will manage defect tracking and status reporting. Relating to SDLC, you will support and improve the software development life cycle - both agile & waterfall - for requirements, design, build, testing, and deployment, applying industry-standard tools including ServiceNow, IBM Urban Code & MS SharePoint. Finally, you will conduct and perform application and technical reviews to determine feasibility and appropriateness for development and integration of new functionality and modules. You will perform migration of code from test systems to production systems, create and maintain migration procedures. You will maintain code control log and validate code migration documentation, in accordance with audit and change control guidelines.

Requirements

  • 5+ years' specific experience.
  • Ability to work independently and cohesively within a team.
  • Proficiency in Java.
  • Experience with IntelliJ or Eclipse, Maven, TOAD or SQL Developer.
  • Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL.
  • Experience with HTML 4/5 & JavaScript.
  • Experience in websites/application development.
  • Working knowledge of GitHub or any source code repository.
  • Experience with SDLC process.
