About the position

SLAIT Consulting is currently seeking an Application Development Support Programmer for our client in the Virginia Beach, VA area. This role is pivotal in supporting applications deployed within the enterprise, cloud, or hybrid cloud environments. The successful candidate will act as a bridge between several agile teams, business users, data administration, network operations, and network engineering functions to ensure the effective support of both custom and off-the-shelf applications. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to challenge the status quo, influence others to embrace new technologies and processes, and motivate colleagues toward continual improvement in organizational performance. In this position, the candidate will support and utilize various applications, including customer relationship management applications, document management applications, call center applications, and middleware technologies. The role requires excellent verbal, written, and other media communication skills, as well as integrative thinking, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with software development languages such as ASP.NET, C#, JavaScript, AJAX, HTML, CSS, DHTML, and XML is preferred. Additionally, a working knowledge of protocols like HTTP, SOAP, DNS, TCP/IP, and Firewalls is beneficial. The candidate should also possess application platform skills in areas such as Windows Server, Active Directory, IIS, CRM, BizTalk Server, and WebSphere. Database platform skills in Microsoft SQL Server (including SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), VMWare Workstation, or Virtual PC are also preferred. The role requires a self-motivated individual who can work independently while being an effective team member. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills are essential for establishing effective rapport with all levels of staff and the public.
