About the position

Seco Tools is seeking an Application Engineer in the Los Angeles area. The ideal candidate will collaborate directly with the North American Sales Team, local and global, Product Marketing Organizations of Seco Tools products and services. Support field sales and customers with training, technical knowledge, component processing, process documentation, troubleshooting, and productivity gains as required to secure sales. Responsibilities

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of our products and their applications.
  • Showcase our products in key market segments like Medical, Automotive, Aerospace, and General Engineering.
  • Drive initiatives to boost sales within targeted markets.
  • Coordinate and document tool testing processes.
  • Create tool assembly drawings using 2D and 3D software.
  • Develop and present cost-saving ideas to customers.
  • Deliver engaging presentations on new products, proven solutions, and training topics.
  • Identify key customers, components, and applications to focus on.
  • Provide internal product and application training to field sales teams.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
  • Plan and execute projects, coordinating resources between Sales, Engineering, Custom Tooling, and Component Engineering teams.
  • Use CRM software to document and drive activities.
  • Provide insights on customer needs, competitive actions, and product development requirements.
  • Contribute to the R&D process for new product concepts.
  • Conduct R&D testing and provide detailed feedback.
  • Assist in developing introduction plans for new products, including training and transition plans.
  • Support the development of new processing techniques and successes with other engineers.

Requirements

  • Strong experience in managing projects.
  • Experience in manufacturing aerospace components.
  • Commitment to achieving customer expectations and business goals.
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
  • Willingness to travel 30-50%.
  • Degree in marketing, sales, engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years in the metal machining industry, with at least 5 years in sales or applications.
  • Ability to train and develop others.
  • Proven ability to drive sales growth at targeted customers.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM and CNC programming.
