About the position

Allient Inc. is currently seeking an Application Engineer to join our team in Buffalo, New York! Allient Inc. is a global publicly traded company with over 2200 employees at 26 locations in 11 countries. The Application Engineer conducts and engages with customers to determine requirements related to manufactured products including motors, drives, gearboxes, and other Allient Inc. products and systems. Serves as a liaison between Allied Motion, customers, distributors, and reps.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with new and existing customers to identify the best motion solution for their application from product offerings.
  • Review engineering specifications from customers and identify an appropriate technical solution through analysis.
  • Interface with Sales Personnel and Engineers at Allied Motion manufacturing facilities to close on new opportunities.
  • Prepares cost estimates for quotations in conjunction with manufacturing engineering or from available data.
  • Serves as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications and related information and expedite material requisitions and production work orders.
  • Provides technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve design, procurement, manufacturing, installation, and field operating problems.
  • Oversees product installation and trial operations, analyzes and resolves operating and other field problems related to customer installations.
  • Prepares proposals, and maintains records, files, and references library incidental to opportunities.
  • Keeps informed of new developments in the industry and as they relate to division's products.
  • Trains in-house to gain an understanding of AM products, applications, order process flow, and specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical
  • 3 - 8 years of work and/or intern/co-op experience in a technical, manufacturing environment
  • Comfortable delivering presentations to internal and external employees as needed.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, compliance requirements, or governmental regulations.
  • Solid computer skills include MS Office, D365 CRM, Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc.
