About The Position

The Application Programmer/Systems Analyst IV at Honu Services is responsible for designing and building applications, enhancing user interfaces, and administering existing asset and service management applications. This role requires collaboration with the System Analysis and Development team to support government customers, utilizing various programming languages and tools. The position also involves developing reports, maintaining documentation, and providing automation advice to improve system functionalities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or related discipline preferred.
  • IT I level certification IAW AR 25-2 and IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M required.
  • Seven to ten years of experience preferred.
  • Thorough understanding of current Asset and Service Management software (e.g., Remedy ITSM, HP OpenView).
  • Familiarity with Ruby and Ruby on Rails framework.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL procedural language.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Visual Studio and object-oriented programming languages.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to troubleshoot issues.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in communicating system analysis concepts to technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to develop technical documents and produce system design documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build applications using various programming languages and tools.
  • Develop user interface features, site animations, and special effects elements.
  • Contribute to enhancing the look and feel of the organization's offerings.
  • Administer existing Asset and Service Management applications using standard development tools.
  • Develop and administer Microsoft Reporting Services and Crystal Reports using AC/SM databases.
  • Administer and develop a custom Ruby on Rails based asset management website.
  • Draft and maintain SOP documents for the functional category.
  • Develop applications to support the enterprise, including data models and interfaces.
  • Plan tests, prepare test data, execute testing, and repair errors before implementation.
  • Prepare and distribute end-user manuals and online help facilities.
