About The Position

Genesis10 is seeking an experienced Application Programmer for a 12+ month contract position in the financial industry. The role involves translating business requirements into technical specifications, designing and implementing ETL processes, and ensuring software stability through various testing methods. The programmer will collaborate with development teams, manage data quality, and perform data analysis while utilizing advanced SQL and ETL tools.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience with Informatica or other ETL tools
• 6+ years of professional experience with SQL/PLSQL
• Understanding of Data Federations, Data Lake, Data Mesh, and advanced cloud concepts
• Experience automating ETL with job scheduling tools, preferably Autosys
• Experience working with large data sets using big data solutions such as Hadoop and Spark
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Team player who values collaboration and relationship building
• Resourceful and innovative with a demonstrated ability to deliver results
• Hands-on experience with Unix Shell Scripting
• Understanding of scheduler tools like Autosys

Nice To Haves

• Strong experience in data warehousing, data architecture, and optimizing advanced SQL queries
• Experience with integration, regression, and performance testing
• Exposure to tools like Trino or Starburst

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Design and implement ETL (Informatica) processes using SQL, ETL tools, and Linux shell scripting
• Conduct data analysis and resolve defects by collaborating across multiple teams
• Manage interdependencies and set up test cases while maintaining data quality
• Ensure software stability through documentation, code reviews, and various testing methods
• Perform logical and physical data modeling and database design
• Lead and develop Informatica PowerCenter ETL flows connecting to heterogeneous databases
• Develop Oracle procedures, functions, and packages to support database applications
• Conduct performance tuning activities for new and existing applications
• Perform data profiling and identify data quality issues
• Guide the team in estimating work necessary for project delivery
• Contribute to story refinement and defining requirements
• Perform proof of concept as necessary to mitigate risks
• Code solutions and unit test to meet defined acceptance criteria
• Assist the team with resolving technical complexities in project work
