Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for application issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Monitor application performance across various environments, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
  • Collaborate with development teams to troubleshoot and resolve application defects and performance issues.
  • Manage database queries and optimizations in Sybase or similar databases to support application functionality.
  • Participate in application deployments and upgrades, ensuring proper implementation and adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including troubleshooting guides, system configurations, and process workflows.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement solutions that enhance application performance and user experience.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on incidents, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve support processes and services.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in application support, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Proficiency in Java programming and understanding of object-oriented design principles.
  • Strong experience with Unix/Linux operating systems, including shell scripting and system administration.
  • Hands-on experience with Sybase or similar relational database management systems (RDBMS).
  • Familiarity with application monitoring tools and performance tuning techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial applications or trading systems.
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and services.
