About the position
The position involves designing software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses, managing their implementation, and overseeing software development and support using formal specifications and accepted design techniques. The role requires estimating software development costs and schedules, reviewing existing programs for refinements, and formulating specifications for software applications. Responsibilities also include program design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation, as well as instructing and checking the work of other personnel. The position requires quality assurance review and evaluation of existing and new software products. Specific tasks include analyzing vulnerabilities within the IC GovCloud security tool suite, conducting gap analysis, researching commercial products, and preparing configuration plans. The role also involves deploying security solutions, conducting training, and monitoring the health of security tool suites.
Responsibilities
- Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses.
- Manage software development and support using formal specifications and design techniques.
- Estimate software development costs and schedules.
- Review existing programs and assist in making refinements.
- Formulate and define specifications for software applications.
- Instruct, direct, and check the work of other task personnel.
- Conduct quality assurance review and evaluation of software products.
- Analyze newly identified vulnerabilities within the IC GovCloud security tool suite.
- Perform gap analysis and research commercial products to eliminate vulnerabilities.
- Conduct analysis of alternatives and present findings to the Government.
- Collaborate with ancillary organizations for hardware/software procurement.
- Prepare configuration plans and software enhancement plans.
- Define and design interfaces to retrieve data from scanning tools.
- Design and implement access controls as part of system solutions.
- Enhance and test COTS/GOTS and applicable hardware for compatibility.
- Define and schedule testing, integration, implementation, and deployment activities.
- Deploy security solutions across the IC GovCloud.
- Conduct security tool instruction/training for authorized users.
- Monitor the health and status of security tool suites.
- Conduct database administration to monitor and repair system health.
Requirements
- 15+ years of related experience in computer science or software engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- US Citizenship required.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
- Familiarity with security tool suites and vulnerability analysis.
