About the position

The Applications Programmer will join the Field Business Intelligence Team, which is responsible for providing data modeling, comprehensive reporting, application development, workflow creation, SharePoint guidance, and various data support to assist field engineers and leadership in accessing critical information for business operations. This role requires a local Austin candidate who can work in a hybrid model, spending two days remote and three days in the office. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of a Bachelor's degree relevant to the position and have experience with the Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, and SharePoint. Strong coding and programming skills are essential, along with excellent communication and collaboration abilities to engage effectively with stakeholders during project implementations. The Applications Programmer will be responsible for developing model-driven and canvas apps using PowerApps, re-engineering custom legacy applications, and integrating Power Platform applications with third-party applications. The role also involves implementing the DevOps process, designing and managing solutions within the Power Platform ecosystem, and providing ongoing support for custom applications and solutions within Microsoft Dynamics. The candidate will need to perform SharePoint Online administration tasks, troubleshoot and resolve issues, and maintain existing applications by writing code to improve performance and fix bugs. This position requires a highly motivated individual who is committed to continuous learning and application enhancements, and who can work effectively as part of a high-functioning team.

Responsibilities

  • Develop PowerApps model-driven and canvas apps.
  • Re-write and re-engineer custom legacy applications using Power Platform solutions.
  • Integrate Power Platform applications with 3rd party applications using Microsoft Power Automate, Microsoft Logic Apps, and Dataverse APIs.
  • Integrate Power BI Reports and dashboards into PowerApps.
  • Implement the DevOps process and build-test-release pipelines.
  • Design, develop, secure, and manage solutions within the Power Platform ecosystem.
  • Design, document, build, deploy Power Apps, Power Automate flows, and Power BI reports.
  • Complete scoping of technical requirements for assigned tasks.
  • Develop logic apps with Middleware automation using Power Automate.
  • Write D365 Plugins, workflows, and Power Automate flows.
  • Create new data integrations from internal and external data sources leveraging APIs or ETL tools.
  • Provide ongoing support for custom applications and solutions within Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Code and perform unit testing for developed routines and procedures.
  • Integrate work into a code repository for successful deployment.
  • Serve as a Power Platform subject matter expert and provide full lifecycle ownership.
  • Maintain existing applications by writing code to improve performance, fix bugs, or implement new functionalities.
  • Participate in code review sessions and explain technical approaches taken in code.
  • Develop, customize, and maintain SharePoint Online solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Design and implement workflows and forms using SharePoint Designer and PowerApps.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Power BI, SharePoint).
  • Strong coding/programming experience.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications using the MS Power Platform.
  • Familiarity with ASP.NET framework, SQL Server, and design/architectural patterns (e.g., MVC).
  • Development experience using C# .NET and knowledge of at least one .NET language (e.g., C#, Visual Basic .NET).
  • Familiarity with architecture styles/APIs (REST, RPC).
  • Experience using PowerShell, SQL, JavaScript, and integrating front-end interfaces with backend systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with commercial product development and re-engineering to enhance existing frameworks.
  • Hands-on experience developing test cases and test plans.
  • Some database administration experience with Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Solid working knowledge of current Internet technologies, including JSP, JavaBeans, Spring MVC, Hibernate, and jQuery.
