About The Position

The Area Chief of Staff at Banfield Pet Hospital is responsible for leading, developing, and managing associate veterinarians across multiple hospitals. This role focuses on ensuring the delivery of high-quality veterinary care while fostering a culture of engagement and performance. The Area Chief of Staff collaborates with practice managers and veterinary teams to align care with Banfield's quality standards and to enhance the overall client experience.

Requirements

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree required.
• Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in small animal medicine and surgery practice.
• Strong leadership and conflict management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in veterinary quality assurance and compliance.
• Familiarity with veterinary practice management software.
• Previous experience in a leadership role within a veterinary practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage associate veterinarians to ensure quality care and hospital performance.
• Drive a culture of quality and safety at the hospital level.
• Conduct regular hospital visits and quality audits for compliance with standards.
• Develop and coach associate veterinarians on necessary skills for success.
• Partner with the Director of Veterinary Quality to recruit and onboard new veterinarians.
• Deliver on veterinary quality KPIs to support hospital performance.
• Identify and develop future veterinary talent for leadership roles.
• Support engagement and retention of certified veterinary technicians.
• Manage medical equipment inventory and functionality in hospitals.
• Participate in veterinary organizations to promote Banfield's brand.
