About the position

The Area Sales Manager (ASM) at GE Appliances is responsible for leading and managing sales activities within assigned Retail Independent Dealers and National Accounts in the Phoenix and Tucson areas. This role focuses on driving sales growth, managing account relationships, and optimizing customer satisfaction in a high-performance environment. The ASM will oversee the end-to-end sales experience, including merchandising, sales training, pricing strategies, and distribution fulfillment, while engaging with key stakeholders to uphold the brand's reputation.

Responsibilities

  • Representing GE Appliances as a trusted partner by selling and promoting appliances to new and existing retail customers, including national accounts and independent dealers.
  • Developing and executing territory growth strategies, identifying new business opportunities, and creating impactful marketing plans to increase sales penetration.
  • Managing account operations to maximize operational effectiveness and customer satisfaction within the assigned region.
  • Achieving and exceeding sales and margin targets by executing tailored merchandising and promotional strategies to enhance sell-through and profitability.
  • Analyzing sales performance using quantitative expertise; generating ROI reports and evaluating margin and pricing strategies.
  • Preparing and delivering compelling product training sessions and presentations to enhance customer knowledge and sales associate effectiveness.
  • Generating detailed status reports tracking activity, follow-ups, and progress toward established goals.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact to resolve customer issues promptly and accurately.
  • Maintaining a consistent presence in the territory through travel to customer locations, ensuring in-person engagement and support.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of sales experience in a customer-facing role, with a proven record of achieving sales objectives.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work effectively in both field and home office settings.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

  • Experience developing, organizing, and implementing territory sales plans with measurable outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, management, and peers to achieve shared goals.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and negotiation skills.
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong analytical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, inventory management, and ROI analysis.
  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques, ensuring the effective execution of marketing initiatives.
  • Previous experience in GE Appliances sales, retail appliance sales, or related industries.
