The Public Safety Officer II position is an armed role focused on ensuring the safety and security of tribal assets, particularly in and around the casinos operated by the Morongo Band of Mission Indians. This position is critical in maintaining a secure environment for both patrons and employees, and it involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at protecting the interests of the tribe. Officers will be tasked with safeguarding against loss or theft of tribal assets and will provide armed escorts as necessary. This includes conducting gaming table drops, chip fills, and asset escorts, as well as providing security during cash pulls. Officers will be required to stand assigned posts and respond promptly to any breaches of the peace, enforcing established policies and procedures as well as relevant criminal laws. The role also involves collaboration with outside law enforcement agencies when required, ensuring a cohesive approach to public safety. Interaction with patrons and team members is a key aspect of the job, and officers are expected to engage positively and professionally. Continuous training is a vital part of this role, including participation in semi-annual firearms qualifications to ensure that all officers are well-prepared for their duties. Additionally, officers may be assigned to specialized tasks, including exterior public safety duties such as bike or vehicle patrols. Other public safety-related duties may also be assigned as needed.
