As an Art Director, you will actively contribute to graphic design and art creation for client projects, setting a standard of excellence. You will work collaboratively with the team on important projects, applying your artistic skills and vision. Your role will also involve delegating design tasks while maintaining an active role in the creative process, mentoring the Lead Designer and the team, and nurturing their professional growth. You will engage with clients to develop and refine design proposals, assist in leading presentations and pitches, and establish robust relationships with clients, adapting to their feedback. Additionally, you will oversee design project timelines and budgets, ensuring efficient execution and financial prudence. You will ensure all design elements meet our creative vision and high-quality standards, consistently reviewing and upholding the technical accuracy and consistency of designs. Your leadership will also involve offering continuous performance feedback to the team, encouraging growth and improvement, and identifying training needs to enhance team skills and capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Actively contribute to graphic design and art creation for client projects, setting a standard of excellence.
  • Work collaboratively with the team on important projects, applying artistic skills and vision.
  • Delegate design tasks while maintaining an active role in the creative process.
  • Mentor the Lead Designer and the team, nurturing their professional growth and readiness for future roles.
  • Cultivate a creative, collaborative work environment that respects and builds upon existing culture.
  • Engage with clients to develop and refine design proposals.
  • Assist in leading presentations and pitches to clients.
  • Establish and maintain robust relationships with clients, adapting to their feedback.
  • Stay current in the latest design technologies and methodologies.
  • Work alongside the Lead Designer in pioneering new design techniques and tools.
  • Oversee design project timelines and budgets, ensuring efficient execution and financial prudence.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and Account Manager as projects move forward and meet deadlines.
  • Ensure all design elements meet creative vision and high-quality standards.
  • Consistently review and uphold the technical accuracy and consistency of designs.
  • Offer continuous performance feedback to the team, encouraging growth and improvement.
  • Identify and address training needs to enhance team skills and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Advertising, or a related field.
  • 5-10 years of experience in graphic design, advertising, or a similar creative field.
  • Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, managing creative teams.
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior designers and encourage creative growth.
  • Expert knowledge of design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once, often under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Able to independently problem solve and bring creative solutions to the table.
  • Understanding of the client's industry to tailor creative solutions effectively.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Understanding of marketing, print production, web design, corporate identity, product packaging, and multimedia design.
  • Experience in a project management system is preferred.
