About the position

The Teacher: Classroom position at Madera Unified School District involves providing instruction using principles of human development and appropriate learning strategies to enable students to make academic, vocational, and/or personal growth. The role encompasses various responsibilities tailored to different educational settings, including preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, alternative education, R.O.P., special education, adult education, and bilingual programs. Teachers are expected to foster positive relationships with students, staff, and community members while ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and district policies.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in grade/subject assigned.
  • Prepare materials needed to assist students.
  • Implement policies, procedures, and mandates as required.
  • Prepare and submit requested reports and plans in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Participate in professional development.
  • Participate in school, District, and department activities and meetings.
  • Work with other staff including administration, counseling, clerical, and other teachers.
  • Provide instruction and compliance activities in accordance with state and federal law, District policies and procedures, and site needs.
  • Work with parents and community members to provide for the instructional needs of individuals in the assigned class.
  • Foster positive relationships between students, staff, and community members.
  • Supervise students to assure their safety.
  • Monitor student achievement and adjust instructions in response to student data.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • Graduate level course work in education.
  • Completion of student teaching.
  • Valid California Teaching Credential for age/subject assigned.

Nice-to-haves

  • College level course in early childhood education equivalent to twelve units.
  • Training related to instruction.
  • Five years recent work experience in instructional area.
  • Valid California license authorizing service in Special Education.
  • Valid California Credential authorizing service in adult education.
