The Artificial Intelligence Integrator (Wargaming) at Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) plays a crucial role in enhancing NATO's wargaming capabilities through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. This position involves collaborating with wargaming experts to identify opportunities for AI enhancement, supporting the development of AI-driven wargaming scenarios, and ensuring the effective use of data science and AI tools to improve decision-making processes in military operations. The role is pivotal in facilitating NATO's digital transformation and operational efficiency in a rapidly evolving security landscape.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with wargaming experts to identify areas where AI can enhance wargaming activities.
• Support the integration of traditional AI methods and generative AI into wargaming.
• Develop supplementary materials for scenario development, including videos and adversary modeling.
• Implement data collection and analysis methods to extract actionable insights from wargaming datasets.
• Create real-time analytics and visualizations to support decision-making during wargaming simulations.
• Integrate AI tools to enhance collaboration between human participants and AI systems.
• Design and conduct experiments to test the effectiveness of AI applications in wargaming scenarios.
• Document and present findings from AI integration experiments to stakeholders.
• Ensure data integrity and security in all AI-related wargaming activities.
• Support collaboration with stakeholders to share knowledge and best practices for AI integration.
• Provide technical guidance to wargaming experts lacking a technical background in AI.
• Develop analytical reports summarizing the results and impact of AI-enhanced wargaming exercises.
• Explore automation of administrative tasks using AI technologies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of AI technologies.
• Create and maintain documentation for AI integration processes and methodologies.
• Participate in workshops and conferences to stay updated on AI technologies and applications in wargaming.
• Support training development for NATO personnel on AI use in wargaming.
• Travel for meetings and conferences up to 30 days per year.

Requirements

• Active Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related field; OR 4 years minimum professional experience in Data Science, ML, or AI within the last 5 years
• Minimum 5 years in the last 8 years working in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI Engineering
• Minimum 3 years in the last 5 years integrating AI technologies into practical applications, preferably in simulation or wargaming contexts
• Proficiency in AI and ML frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn
• Experience with generative AI models, particularly Large Language Models like GPT-3 or GPT-4
• Minimum 3 years in the last 8 years in data collection, analysis, and visualization using tools such as Python, R, Tableau, or PowerBI
• Understanding of wargaming principles and methodologies
• Knowledge of Multi-Domain Operations (MDO) and military strategic planning
• Minimum 3 years in the last 5 years providing technical guidance to teams with varying levels of AI expertise
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Experience in managing AI-related projects, including planning and execution
• Demonstrated ability to design and conduct experiments to test AI applications
• Knowledge of data security principles and best practices
