We utilize our world-class manufacturing facilities in the U.S., India, and Malaysia to continue to put forth excellent engineering solutions aligned with efficient manufacturing to meet high-volume production requirements. OSI Laserdiode, a division of OSI Optoelectronics, has an opening for an Assembler. This individual will wire, solder, and assemble microscopic components to make subassemblies or assemblies for laser systems and fiber optic products. They will also test the final product to see if it meets specification; in accordance with customer specification sheet, established procedures, and/or specific instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Epoxy assembly of optoelectronic devices
  • Device laser serialization
  • Lead forming
  • Component assembly
  • Visual inspections
  • Filing out travelers and entering data in computer spreadsheets
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in line with company policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Must be able to work with, and properly handle, lab chemicals such as epoxy, acetone, methanol, and propanol as per Company procedures
  • Excellent hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity needed
  • Ability to handle sensitive, complex components and product placement using a microscope is necessary
  • Prior experience handling small electronic devices and small handheld tools a plus
  • Must be available and flexible to work a split shift or extended work schedule
