About the position

As an Asset Integrity Department Manager (DM) with Middough, you will oversee the operational control of our Asset Integrity services and programmatic work for clients. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are completed successfully and on time, while also maintaining high standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for scheduling field work, reviewing deliverables, and managing team performance. Your leadership will be essential in fostering a collaborative environment where team members can thrive and contribute to the success of the department. In this position, you will plan, develop, coordinate, and direct team members to ensure the successful completion of projects. Building and maintaining key client relationships will be a critical aspect of your role, as you will assist in the preparation of proposals and project estimates for new projects. You will also participate in scheduling project staff utilization and needs, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively. Coaching and developing team members using best practices, performance management, and training tools will be a key responsibility. You will collaborate with senior management to coordinate work for projects and take an active role in supporting business development activities. Additionally, you will coordinate and track fieldwork with client contacts and oversee the logistics of equipment required for each project. Ensuring that procedures and processes are up to date and adhered to will be essential for maintaining operational efficiency and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, coordinate, and direct team members to the successful completion of projects.
  • Build and maintain key client relationships.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and project estimates for new projects.
  • Participate in the scheduling project staff utilization and needs.
  • Coach and develop team members using best practices, performance management, supportive behavior, and training tools.
  • Collaborate with senior management in coordinating work for projects.
  • Take an active role as needed in support of business development activities.
  • Coordinate and track fieldwork with client contacts and report writing.
  • Coordinate and ensure proper tracking of company owned equipment.
  • Procure safety supplies and personal protective equipment.
  • Track projects to ensure schedule and budgets are maintained.
  • Oversee logistics of equipment required for each project.
  • Ensure procedures and processes are up to date and adhered to.
  • Support field work as required when resources are limited.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, project management, or related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in engineering and technical design required.
  • 10+ years of direct people management experience required.
  • Experience working in heavy industrial environment and marketplace exposure preferred.
  • Licensure, certification, and/or experience with OSHA 10/30-hour certification preferred.
  • MSHA Part 46/48 certification preferred.
  • TWIC card preferred.
  • Aerial lift training/certification preferred.
  • Confined space training and competency preferred.
  • Non-destructive testing experience (UTT, PT, MT, VT) preferred.
  • API 510, 570 and 653 knowledge/certification preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively organize multiple assignments, complex assignments, and competing priorities to produce quality reports and results.
  • Experience with structural steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and/or foundation design preferred.
  • Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficient with design and business enterprise software.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail abilities.
  • Excellent multitasking and organizational abilities for project efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Knowledge of IBC, AISC, ASCE, ASME, and API codes.
