About the position

The Store Asset Protection Lead plays a crucial role in assisting the Store Manager and/or Store Asset Protection Manager in implementing asset protection and shortage control programs. This position is focused on meeting or exceeding shortage goals, conducting investigations, training store associates, and collaborating with management to resolve shortage-related issues. The lead is expected to embody the values of the Asset Protection Mission Statement, drive compliance with safety programs, and maintain positive relationships with law enforcement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager and/or Store Asset Protection Manager with asset protection and shortage control programs.
  • Conduct investigations related to theft and dishonesty.
  • Provide training to store associates on asset protection protocols.
  • Partner with management to resolve shortage-related issues.
  • Drive compliance with company shortage and safety programs.
  • Develop an understanding of profitability to support the Store Manager with controllable expenses.
  • Proactively reduce shortage by preventing and detecting theft.
  • Report incidents to Asset Protection leadership in a timely manner.
  • Maintain relationships with law enforcement personnel.
  • Manage the utilization of security systems and report any issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to operate a computer and work with minimal supervision.
  • 1 or more years of retail, security, and/or military experience.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
  • Strong decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1+ years of Asset Protection experience.
  • Experience with exception-based reporting and analytical tools.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Industry certifications such as LPC or LPQ.
