The Store Asset Protection Manager is a pivotal role within the retail environment, tasked with administering the Asset Protection and shortage control programs for their store. This position is crucial in ensuring that the store meets or exceeds its shortage goals, which directly impacts the overall profitability and operational efficiency of the business. The Store Asset Protection Manager operates independently while also guiding the store and Asset Protection Store Associates in various investigations, training sessions, and addressing shortage-related issues. This role serves as the primary communication link between the store and the Regional Asset Protection Manager, ensuring that specific issues and concerns are effectively communicated and addressed. In this role, the Store Asset Protection Manager is responsible for implementing and ensuring adherence to programs designed to prevent and detect internal theft. This includes directing and assisting the store with investigations, conducting interviews, and following established case procedures. Regular reviews of Asset Protection exception reports and other relevant documentation are essential to maintain compliance and identify potential areas of concern. The manager also reviews cash discrepancies to ensure the store operates within allowable guidelines and assists store management in adhering to company policies and procedures. The position requires proficiency in covert camera installation and the implementation of programs aimed at deterring and preventing external theft. The Store Asset Protection Manager plays a key role in promoting associate awareness through support of customer approach programs and ensuring that all associates receive comprehensive Asset Protection awareness training. This includes the distribution of Traditions of Excellence materials and training standards for emergency procedures such as robbery and fire. Active participation in shortage reduction programs and the development of action plans for high shortage departments are also critical components of this role. The manager monitors and reviews paperwork systems and procedures to prevent shortages due to errors and trains store management on the utilization and application of paperwork reports. Additionally, the Store Asset Protection Manager oversees store shortage committees to ensure compliance and effectiveness, interviews all Asset Protection candidates, and conducts ongoing training for Asset Protection associates. Timely documentation and communication of all Asset Protection-related activities and incidents are essential, as is providing the Regional Asset Protection Manager and Store Manager with current reports and information.
